Cloth Diaper Inserts

There are many things that you are likely to have to figure out when you first learn that you are pregnant and going to have a baby. The first of these is whether you are going to use disposable diapers or are you going to use cloth diapers. You might also be thinking about whether you will bottle-feed or breast-feed that baby as well; however that particular topic is not what we are here to discuss. Figuring out how to use cloth diapers and the cloth diaper inserts that seem to go hand-to-hand with them is often a puzzling maze for new parents.
One of the first things that you are going to need to realize and remember is that you are almost always going to need approximately three times as many cloth diaper inserts as you will need of the cloth diaper covers themselves. Plainly and simply you will need this many because of the fact that your baby is going to go through times when they will soil that diaper and diaper insert more often. The other major thing to know about diaper inserts is the fact that some of them are disposable, while others need to be washed along with the diaper cover.
Whether you are using cloth diapers because they are more eco- and environmentally-friendly or just because you choose to go this route you are going to need to remember a few simple things in order to make things easier for you and more comfortable you your little one. The first thing to thinks about and remember is that not every baby is going to be comfortable in cloth diapers. Along these lines you might want to think about the fact that more little ones deal with diaper rashes and yeast infections caused by either the cloth diapers themselves or the cloth diaper inserts.
The cloth diaper inserts are slid into a pocket that is specially designed for them. When you change your baby’s diaper you only need to drop all solid wastes in the toilet and then give both the insert and the diaper cover a good rinse if it is needed. Many say that you would be well advised to change the cloth diaper cover each and every time that you change the baby. There are others that say that you need not change the cloth diaper cover if it is not spoiled or wet. Which you do is totally up to you.
Something else to remember about non-disposable cloth diaper inserts is that you cannot – or are not advised to anyway – use diaper rash creams with these inserts. There is a great deal of advice that advises you to switch over to fleece or disposable diaper inserts in that case. Given the fact that food allergies and teething as well as other things can easily cause diaper rashes and yeast infections you might want to talk with your baby’s pediatrician and other moms that use cloth diapers for advice and coping strategies.
